Try This 3.14
“An ode is a serious, meditative lyric poem that treats a noble subject in a dignified manner. Write an ode to something hip, pop, trivial, or trashy that you really love.” (pg. 87)
My Try
An Ode to My Heated Ororo© Sweatshirt
It was 2℉ (after windchill) and I didn’t check the weather before running out the door. Cold ASF. At Empanada Mama and the Pie Man, the Pie Man said: “That is not all you’re wearing.” Cold ASF. Don’t worry, it’s heated! Not exactly warm over just a t-shirt in this weather, but I can feel the warmth seep into my shoulder blades from the blessed electric coils nested between the layers of fabric. Like standing by a heating lamp. Like a hug. Like the sun.
