Daily Prompt #4

I love flash, so I decided to dedicate Fridays entirely to flash!

Today we will follow the Tuesday Chooseday model, in that you get to decide the genre of your response – so long as it stays flash. Some weeks we will pick fiction or non-fiction, etc. But this week all that matters is that it’s as short as you have time for!

The letter I have written today is longer than usual because I lacked the time to make it shorter.

Fascinating Mundanity

Today’s challenge is this: write something completely and utterly mundane and banal. Now, how do you make it interesting? Is your ‘thing’ a woman considering her day? If so, is it interesting because it shows how the routineness of her life is both perfectly, contentedly ordinary, and tragic in it’s boring simplicity?

Consider how you can make something plain or everyday into something that stops a reader to make them think. Inspire ‘hmm’s of thought, ducklings!
